Traditional Liposuction
When Dr. Sorokin performs liposuction surgery, he begins with traditional New Jersey liposuction. This time-tested technique uses tumescent fluid to control bruising, swelling, and discomfort. He then uses a thin, metal tube called a "cannula" to extract the fat. Many patients attain pleasing results with traditional liposuction alone because of Dr. Sorokin's extensive experience and refined skills performing liposuction.

Advanced Options
Dr. Sorokin offers several advanced liposuction techniques that are designed to make fat removal easier during traditional liposuction. At your consultation, he will review the enhancement options with you and help you determine the most appropriate choice for your body type and treatment areas.
- VASER® Lipo uses ultrasonic waves to break up and liquefy the fat cells before they are removed through a cannula. Because underlying tissues, blood vessels, and nerves are not harmed by the ultrasound energy, bruising, swelling, and pain is minimized.
- Smartlipo™ melts unwanted fat with a specialized laser-tipped cannula. When performed on small areas, such as under the chin, patients can have the added benefit of some modest skin contraction.
- Power assisted liposuction (PAL) loosens fat cells using a specialized vibrating cannula. The combination of vibration and tumescent fluid loosens the fat cells, allowing them to be quickly and easily suctioned out of the body.
While liposuction effectively removes excess fat, it does not significantly tighten the skin. If your abdominal skin is loose and stretched out due to weight gain or pregnancy, Dr. Sorokin might suggest a tummy tuck in New Jersey to give you the firm, fit look you desire.
