Breast Augmentation
There are many reasons why women in New Jersey and Philadelphia consider breast augmentation. Some seek a fuller breast size to look more attractive in clothing or swimwear, to balance their body proportions, or to boost their self-confidence. Others are hoping to restore lost volume after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging. Women who have survived breast cancer may also be interested in breast enhancement surgery to reconstruct a new breast following mastectomy. No matter the reason, breast surgery can help you achieve the look you've always wanted.

The Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation at our south New Jersey practice involves making a small incision to insert an implant into the breast area. Because no 2 breasts are alike, and no 2 women want the exact same results, Dr. Sorokin will tailor the surgical procedure to your unique needs. He performs the procedure, which typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, on an outpatient basis while the patient is under general anesthesia and asleep.

Breast Implant Options
Size isn't everything. When it comes to breast implants, Philadelphia and New Jersey women have a variety of options to consider, including the type of material contained within the implant, the texture of the outer covering of the implant, and the implant shape. Dr. Sorokin believes that it's important for you to achieve a natural look that integrates the implant with your overall body shape, and custom-tailors each procedure to achieve this result.
Silicone Breast Implant Safety
Most women have heard about potential problems with silicone implants in the past, but many are confused about the availability and use of this type of implant now. In November 2006, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) re-approved silicone breast implants for all types of breast procedures. Prior to this announcement, Dr. Sorokin had been using these breast implants as part of an FDA-sanctioned study, giving him the experience needed to handle these implants as they return to general use.
Risks and Recovery Following Breast Augmentation
Most women recover quickly from breast augmentation surgery and can return to their normal routine within a few days. You can expect to enjoy your new look without restrictions or medical support in a matter of weeks. As with any surgical procedure, complications may occur.
