A Wrong Made Right
After struggling for years with obesity, 44-year-old Tia lost 100 pounds and kept those pounds off for 10 years. Although she was elated with her success, she realized that only plastic surgery in New Jersey could remove certain areas of excess skin and fat. She met with a doctor who claimed to be an international authority for an advanced liposuction procedure called SmartLipo™. He convinced Tia to have SmartLipo and a tummy tuck in June 2010.
"I had an instinct that something wasn't right," Tia said, "but I wanted the surgery so badly that I agreed."
Tia awoke to horrifying results. "I looked worse than before," she said. "I looked deformed."
Although she demanded her money back (and received it), Tia slipped into depression. The botched surgery left her with not only an unpleasant appearance but also a sense of desperation.

Searching for Hope
"After surgery, I was devastated. I didn't know what to do," Tia said. "I was afraid that another doctor would not want to work on me because I looked disfigured."
After browsing through several websites for plastic surgery in the Philadelphia area, Tia came across Dr. Sorokin. She was impressed with his before-and-after photos as well as the wealth of information available on his website. She decided to schedule a consultation.
During the meeting, Tia's worries were put to rest. Dr. Sorokin listened carefully as she explained her story, and he offered honest feedback about what could be done to repair her body.
"Dr. Sorokin was knowledgeable, professional and compassionate," Tia says. "He validated my feelings, and I could tell that he genuinely felt bad about what had happened to me. He really wanted to make this right."
A Second Chance
After discussing her options with Dr. Sorokin, Tia decided to undergo a tummy tuck to correct her previous surgery. Because she felt so comfortable with Dr. Sorokin, she also chose to have a breast augmentation with lift to improve her uneven breasts. Tia scheduled her surgery for October 2010.
"The day of my surgery, I felt excited, safe and confident," Tia said. "I knew I was in good hands."
Understanding the magnitude of her operation, Tia took as much time off from work as possible so she could focus on herself and her recovery. Dr. Sorokin prepared her for what to expect and promised he would be available to her after surgery. And, he was true to his word.
"I called the office every day," Tia laughs, "and the staff was very patient and compassionate. Dr. Sorokin even returned my phone calls himself."
Tia's New Look on Life
Today, Tia looks and feels like a new person. She is overjoyed with the results Dr. Sorokin was able to achieve and is very grateful to him and the entire staff at Delaware Valley Plastic Surgery. She has been so pleased with her results, in fact, that she now receives skin care treatments for melasma and acne at Dr. Sorokin's practice.
"One year later, I look and feel great," says Tia. "I love the changes. I wish I had found Dr. Sorokin first."
