Jeannine's New Jersey Cosmetic Surgery Journey
Jeannine, a 39-year-old mother, lives in Chicago during the winter, and spends her summers on the Jersey shore. After losing weight when she was about 25, she noticed that her breasts lost volume, and so she looked into breast lift surgery with a surgeon in Philadelphia. The surgeon convinced her to have a breast augmentation instead, and the large implants he used just made her breast sagging worse.
After a few years, she consulted with a plastic surgeon in the Chicago area who recommended a breast lift with smaller implants. After this second surgery, Jeannine was left with very visible scarring and she also experienced rippling of her implants.

Finding the Right Surgeon
After hearing from a friend about Dr. Sorokin, a cosmetic surgeon in New Jersey, while visiting the Jersey shore one recent summer, Jeannine decided to take action. When she first met with Dr. Sorokin, Jeannine felt right at home. "I made my deposit the day of my initial consultation – that's how comfortable I was with the doctor and staff." During the consultation, Jeannine told Dr. Sorokin that she wanted another breast augmentation with the breast implants placed below the muscle.
"When I told Dr. Sorokin what I wanted, he instantly said that it was possible, but when I met with other surgeons for a consultation, they told me I couldn't have what I wanted. Also, Dr. Sorokin was very thorough in his consultation and while he was explaining things." After being offered the choice between silicone gel and saline breast implants, Jeannine was also offered the choice in breast implant profiles. Neither of these options had been discussed with her during her prior surgeries.
Surgery and Recovery
Dr. Sorokin performed a revision breast augmentation for Jeannine using silicone gel breast implants. He also corrected her scarring from previous surgeries. Jeannine says, "With Dr. Sorokin I experienced the least amount of pain and downtime than all of my other breast augmentation procedures." In fact, Jeannine was so pleased with the office staff, the nurses, and Dr. Sorokin himself that she has returned to Delaware Valley Plastic Surgery for other procedures.
Returning for More
In addition to her breast augmentation, Jeannine also had Dr. Sorokin correct a lip augmentation that she had performed when she was younger. Unbeknownst to her, her injector placed silicone in her lips. The silicone began to break into small pieces, which gave a bumpy and disfigured appearance to her lips, particularly when she smiled. Dr. Sorokin removed the silicone from her lips and performed a fat transfer using fat from her stomach. In addition, Dr. Sorokin corrected the accumulated scar tissue from the silicone in Jeannine's lip that covered the muscle between her upper lip and nose. After correcting this scar tissue that led to a distorted smile, Jeannine now smiles with pride as her face lights up again. She says, "I am often complimented on the teeth I've been unable to show."
Jeannine also had eyelid surgery performed by Dr. Sorokin. After 10 years of dealing with hereditarily heavy eyelids that got progressively worse as she got older, she decided she needed to take charge. Fearful of her eyes looking "sunken in," Jeannine had consulted a few surgeons about her eyes. When she met with Dr. Sorokin, he assured her that she could see positive results with a little filler placed underneath the eyes, and an upper blepharoplasty. After her procedure, she noticed how bright and rested she looked.
One of the things that Jeannine appreciates about Dr. Sorokin and his staff is their availability and willingness to answer all of her questions, no matter how small they might be. "I can call the office and ask even the smallest questions without feeling like I'm being a nuisance to anyone. And they are very accommodating – I never have to wait very long to be seen."
Jeannine is so pleased with Dr. Sorokin and his staff that she is planning on having more procedures performed in the future. She encourages women who are seeking plastic surgery to always get a second opinion. "Know all of your options before ultimately choosing your surgeon," she says. She also warns against choosing one surgeon over another just to save a few dollars. "I've learned that plastic surgery is an investment, and your body's not something you should bargain with."
