The Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation Procedure
The SmartSkin laser treats a fraction of the skin surface with tiny, pinpoint columns of laser energy. This technology does not impact adjacent areas, resulting in a faster recovery period and shorter recovery time.
While most people experience only slight discomfort during these treatments, a topical anesthetic is available if you have any concerns. The length of treatment depends on the conditions and areas being addressed. For example, Dr. Sorokin can usually treat the entire face in about 15 to 20 minutes.
During your consultation, Dr. Sorokin will help you decide how many treatments you will need to achieve the improvements you want. If you are concerned about downtime, you will probably want to have a few, gentler treatments. Recovery Following Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing
You will be able to drive yourself home after your fractional laser skin treatment. Expect your skin to feel warm, and look slightly puffy and mildly sunburned for the first few days. Depending on the level of your treatment, you should be able to return to your routine within 2 to 7 days. Your improvements will be most noticeable after your skin has renewed itself and collagen production has increased, which can take several weeks to occur.
